Cost Effective Contact Tracing for Small Island States
IslandSafe offers a simple, secure and inexpensive contact tracing system.
Public venues are set up with scanning stations using low-end mobile phones. Residents and visitors are issued with unique personal QR cards, which are scanned at public venues. The QR code, date/time and location are automatically uploaded to a secure database, which can be exclusively accessed by the Public Health Authority for the purpose of contact tracing. Individuals do not need to own or carry a mobile device, just a printed card. Once the system is set up, operation is automatic.
IslandSafe systems are already used in a number of the Pacific Islands, and are cheap, simple, and low-tech for the general populace.
